Sue and John Wieland and the High Legacy
Sue and John Wieland gave $12 million--the largest individual gift in the High's history--in support of the High's $130 million campaign. The Museum will recognize the Wieland's long-time leadership and generosity to the High by naming the largestĀ of its three new buildings--the main gallery pavilion--in their honor.
"Sue and John Wieland's gift demonstrates their exceptional commitment to the High Museum and its future," stated Michael E. Shapiro, the High's Nancy and Holcombe T. Green, Jr. Director. "As charter members of the High, they have helped the Museum become what is is today, and we are very pleased that our new building will bear their name."
"Sue and I are very pleased to be a part of the new High for Atlanta," John Wieland said. "We are extremely committed to Atlanta and believe that the High's new buildings will have a lasting and positive impact on the life and character of our city."
