The Paradise Project was inaugurated in 1994 as a tribute to Howard Finster and remains a prime example of the Museum’s early commitment to collecting self-taught art. The exhibition Howard Finster: Visions from Paradise Garden, which commemorated the artist’s eightieth birthday, included several of Finster’s hand-lettered signs such as this obscure little poem.
