One of the most influential designers in modern Japanese history, Shiro Kuramata is best known for his poetic, lighthearted designs made from modern industrial materials such as acrylic, aluminum, and steel mesh. In this piece, colorful feathers float in a clear and heavy block of acrylic, juxtaposing weight and weightlessness, eternity and transience.
