Christenberry’s approach to photographing the Green Warehouse demonstrates an uncommon amount of compositional experimentation. Where he tended to photograph his other subjects frontally, he regularly deconstructed the formal elements of this unusual peaked building into basic geometric shapes and subtle textures produced by the deep-green corrugated metal. The Green Warehouse is also distinct within Christenberry’s archive in that it appears to undergo very little change over the many years he photographed it.
