Event Description

A cross-collection collaboration, Off the Grid surveys the High’s diverse collecting areas, offering unprecedented juxtapositions of works by artists from a variety of cultural backgrounds and artistic practices, unified conceptually by their engagement with grids. Off the Grid not only confirms the grid as a dominant force in twentieth-century art but also expands this notion beyond canonical Minimalist and abstract artists to include a more diverse group of artists working in a wide array of media.

Curious about Off the Grid? Inquiring Minds invites participants to explore the exhibition through small group conversation. These sessions focus on a handful of artworks and are participatory in nature—they are not lectures. Come as you are, with your observations, ideas, and opinions.

Inquiring Minds meets in the Taylor Lobby of the Wieland Pavilion. After presenting your ticket at the Admissions Desk, please make your way to the check-in cart located in front of Ellsworth Kelly’s Blue, Green, Red. Stools and assistive listening devices will be provided upon request.
