Learn how to stage fashion photos successfully with a smartphone. Working with live models, capture editorial-style images through styling and posing. Explore how to convey mood and tone through staged portraiture and delve into editing techniques to enhance and finalize your images. At the end of the workshop, print your favorite photograph, share your work with fellow participants, and receive instructor feedback.
About Studio Workshops
Studio Workshops are beginner-friendly art-making workshops inspired by artworks on view at the High. These workshops provide opportunities to experiment, play, and enjoy new art-making materials and processes. No prior experience is required. Studio Workshops are designed for adults, but all ages are welcome. This workshop is offered three times.
About Your Instructor
Mary Catherine Kelly is an artist from South Dakota with a background in painting and photography. Across mediums, she uses light and shadow as central compositional tools, highlighting contrast to emphasize form and surface texture while drawing attention to the geometrical intersections of details within a larger scene.
