Alyson Shotz often addresses issues of perception, space, and the delimiting of physical boundaries. Shotz incorporates her interest and study in history, aesthetics, politics, and science into the development of objects that explore a range of organic forms and manmade materials. This sculptural installation is made from thirty industrially produced domed surveillance mirrors of varying dimensions and depth. Hung in a patterned arrangement along a nearly forty-foot-long wall, the mirrors function both individually and in harmony to create a compelling and interactive environment.
