This work began as a classic, hand-thrown Royal Delft porcelain vase before being transformed into the form shown here. Before the clay hardened, the designers blew the vase sideways with a strong gust of wind to create an interesting play between intentionality and spontaneity in the finished shape. The bizarre yet beautiful object nods to porcelain’s rich history while embracing new concepts and processes. The vase is hand painted with traditional Dutch scenes and hand formed by Royal Delft.
