Tiffany and Company presented this rare silver and copper bowl at the Paris Exposition of 1900. The form resembles a Hupa basket. The handles, which are designed to resemble rattlesnakes, are set with turquoise from Arizona. Tiffany and Company produced a very limited series of works inspired by Native American pottery and baskets after a selection was presented at the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893.
