Finster once confided that he was sure people wanted to see horses of a sort they had never seen before: “There are no horses in the world like I draw.” In this work, spotted equines of various colors and sizes, some bearing enormous riders, mingle with tiny figures. Meanwhile, God confirms Finster’s accomplishment, his arm reaching around to display a book announcing, “HORSES LIKE NO ONE ON EARTH HAS SEEN BEFORE.”
