Using old keyboards, microphones, and other studio recording equipment, artist Eric Legge fashioned this unconventional altar to Atlanta’s music industry. Legge was commissioned to create this work by Doppler Studios, a celebrated Atlanta business that recorded scores of famous songs from hundreds of artists—including Wynton Marsalis, Mariah Carey, and Outkast—between 1969 and 2016. The central panel of Legge’s painted sculpture shows the Atlanta skyline haloed by the rising mountains of North Georgia, where Legge currently lives and works.
