Danish designer Astrid Krogh, who lives in a seaside town in Denmark, began harvesting and collecting the seaweed she found on her daily swims. She became interested in the nature of patterns after having conversations with a Harvard astrophysicist who was mapping the structure of the universe. Influenced by both the chaos of the universe and finely woven tapestries of seventeenth-century France, Krogh arranged her collection of seaweed on an LED light box, injecting an “entire spectrum of ever-changing color rays” into her work.
