In "Street Corner Seen from Above" (Coin de rue vue d'en haut), Pierre Bonnard depicts a scene of everyday Parisian life from an elevated viewpoint: the artist’s own window. The artist (and viewer) is removed from the bustle of the street below and is stationary, in comparison to the movement of the figures below. The printed composition resembles that of a painting Bonnard made around the same time, now at the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. (acc. no. 0170).
