This porcelain tazza takes the form of a circular leaf with finely modeled onions, radishes, and green lettuce. Surviving design books from the Minton Factory record that the firm offered fancy ornaments and plates filled with porcelain flowers, fruits, and vegetables in the early 1830s. A number of factories offered these whimsical decorations in the first half of the nineteenth century. While this fine tazza cannot be firmly attributed, it is probably from Shropshire, Staffordshire, or Yorkshire, England.
