Most of Georgia artist Linda Anderson’s paintings deal with either biblical subject matter or memory. This work depicts the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. At the edge of the Garden, two angels wield swords of flame. Adam crouches in misery, while Eve seems to grieve over the bitter future to which their disobedience has condemned the human race. The diagonal line separating the lush green of Eden from the barren land outside creates an unsettling sense of vertigo.
