Francis Bruguière created this stunning image by shining light onto cut sheets of paper. He drew his inspiration from Danish artist Thomas Wilfred, who invented a device he called the Lumia in order to experiment with light projections. Bruguière took several exposures to capture the different patterns of light on the paper. His transformation of light into abstract forms gives the intangible subject an illusion of solidity, weight, and volume.
