In works like this one, Rowe expressed sadness about the state of her world, which in 1981 marked the beginning of several years of local trauma around the unsolved Atlanta Child Murders as well as personal illness. She still managed to express optimism for her next world, saying, “I feel like I’m growing stronger because I’m serving the Lord, and I thank Him for everything. Letting me stay here this long, living down here on love and land, for this world is not my home. My home is on high and I’m going to reach it one day.”
