Herbert Leupin produced this poster for the newspaper La Tribune de Lausanne in 1955 to urge the city’s commuters to pick up their daily copy. Known for his bold and humorous designs, Leupin transformed the paper’s masthead into a coffee pot, visualizing the association between morning news and caffeine. The viewer who stopped to tilt their head and read the faux front page was treated to an article about the coverage offered in the Tribune’s pages—domestic and international politics, art and literature, the economy, and sports.
