The modernist, geometric form and attention to detail evident in the Woven Majesty teapot is reminiscent of metalwork by masters of the Bauhaus. The title Woven Majesty is a reference to the woven copper and silver wire that decorates the teapot handle. The circle leitmotif appears on the lid finial, the handle (using the exotic wood padouk to insulate the holder’s hand from heat), and on the two feet near the base, which allow the pot to tilt on its side as tea steeps. Woodman was commissioned by the High in 2009 to complete the service with a matching sugar bowl, creamer, and tray.
