Open Studio: Photo Transfer

Greene Family Education Center, Red Workshop | 10 a.m.–12 p.m. noon and 2–4 p.m.

Experiment, play, and exercise your creativity during Open Studio! This informal drop-in program encourages adults of all ages to explore different materials and techniques with guidance from High  Museum of Art teaching artists. Materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary.

Experiment, play, and exercise your creativity during Open Studio! This month we will explore photo transfer techniques. Sourcing from magazines, catalogs, and other printed materials, we will select images that connect to a personal experience, memory, or event. Inspired by Tomashi Jackson’s Is Anybody Gonna Be Saved? (1948 Middle of Voter Registration Line) (1965 Abernathy and King Watch the Signing of the Act) in Gallery 412, we will experiment with layering and mixed media to create unique compositions.
