Art After Loss is a supportive, discussion-based program for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one. Hosted in the galleries of the High Museum of Art, this four-week series invites participants to gather in community and explore works of art that speak to the complexity of the human experience. Guided by museum staff, participants engage in thoughtful conversations about artworks that touch on themes of memory, identity, connection, resilience, and transformation. Through close looking, reflection, and shared dialogue, participants are encouraged to explore their own responses to art while connecting with others who understand the experience of loss.

Art After Loss is not a formal support group or therapy program. Rather, it offers a welcoming space where grief can be acknowledged openly and compassionately through the lens of art. Together, participants discover how artworks and artists’ stories can spark reflection, provide new perspectives, and create opportunities for connection, insight, and meaning-making.

Registration and parking for this event are free of charge. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Stools and assisted listening devices will be available during the in-gallery conversation.
