Don’t miss an evening of live jazz at the High every third Friday. This month features Khari Cabral Simmons.

Enjoy a drink and light bites, head to the galleries to explore the museum’s works on view, and join a docent-led tour for a detailed look at the collection. The event will feature two musical areas where musicians will play throughout the evening, layering notes and improvising melodies.

Tours

HIGHlights tours begin at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Docent tours meet in the Taylor Lobby and are on a first-come-first-serve basis.

About Khari Cabral Simmons

Khari Cabral Simmons is a bassist best known for his soulful jazz style music. Khari has collaborated and performed with Sun Ra, India.Arie, and Gaelle. He also created JIVA to be his own vehicle for upbeat soulful music. JIVA went on to play all over the Atlanta area. During this time, India Arie invited Khari to be come her touring bassist. They played all over the world, on shows such as SNL and The Today Show. JIVA has released 3 singles, an EP and a full-length album, “Sun & Moon”. Khari is also a Grammy Award winning bassist.   • Doors for Friday Jazz open at 6 p.m. The museum will remain closed between 5 to 6 p.m.
  • Seating is extremely limited, and priority is given to guests with disabilities.
  • All tickets reservations are final. Tickets reservations cannot be rescheduled or exchanged.
  • No outside food or beverage is permitted.
