Each month, a faith, spiritual, or contemplative practitioner joins a High staff member in a conversation centered on a work of art and the ways it invites deeper reflection into their contemplative practice.

He is the founder of the center alongside being the founder of the Silent Thunder Order, a network of priests and disciples practicing Zen throughout the United States and Canada. Elliston first engaged with Zen when he met Rev. Soyu Matsuoka-roshi of the Chicago Zen Buddhist Temple where he received his initial training in the late 1960’s. In 1970, Elliston was ordained as Zen Priest under the Soto Zen Headquarters in Toyko, Japan before leaving to establish his practice in Atlanta.
