This after-hours program includes art-making workshops, an educator-led conversation, guides for exploring on your own, and light refreshments. Experience world-class art, be creative, explore the museum at your own pace, or simply enjoy spending time with friends and family in a supportive, judgment-free environment.

Space is limited to reduce crowds, and preregistration is required.

A Sensory Guide and Social Story are available to help you prepare for your visit.

Open Studio: Geometric Abstraction

Greene Family Education Center, Red Workshop | 6–7:30 p.m.

Experiment with shapes, lines, and composition through stamping. Inspired by works on view in Patterns in Abstraction: Black Quilts from the High’s Collection , we will find patterns and repetition and use a limited color palette to create our own unique abstractions with stamps and adhesive materials.

This drop-in studio exploration will take place in a room with low lighting. Materials will be provided, including gloves, stamps, foam sheets, ink pads, and adhesives. No prior experience is necessary.

Open Studio: Multilayer Collage

Anne Cox Chambers Wing Lobby | 6–7:30 p.m.

When you think of your most vivid childhood memory, what do you see? How can you capture that experience in a visual work? Artists such as Joseph Cornell and Radcliffe Bailey mine their personal experiences, familial traditions, and cultural heritage to create multilayered assemblages that capture the complexity of memory and identity.
