Studio Sessions: Smartphone Photography

Join our studio workshop and learn how to create amazing photos with your phone! In this hands-on session, you’ll explore the world of smartphone photography. Learn how to capture more engaging images, and discover what makes great composition by experimenting with various design principles. You’ll also delve into editing techniques to enhance your pictures and make them truly stand out.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll print your best shots at 4×6 images, share your work with fellow participants, and receive valuable feedback from our experienced instructor Michelle Alba. Get ready to unleash your creativity and take your smartphone photography to the next level!

Two current High Museum of Art exhibitions–Truth Told Slant: Contemporary Photography and Dutch Art in a Global Age: Masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston—inspire this workshop. Participants will use technical photography practices found within Truth Told Slant, and the contextual background of Dutch Art in a Global Age, to examine global citizenship today.

Studio Sessions are art-making workshops connected to artworks on view at the High. These workshops provide opportunities to experiment, play, and enjoy new mediums and materials. No prior experience is required. Studio Sessions are designed for adults, but all ages are welcome. This workshop is offered three times.
