Studio Workshop: Cyanotype

Cyanotyping, a photographic printing process in which objects are placed on photosensitive paper and exposed to UV light, creates striking blue-and-white images through the power of sunlight. In this hands-on workshop, we will begin by creating traditional cyanotype prints using objects brought from home or selected from a collection of nature-inspired materials we provide. We will then take our prints to the next level by experimenting with staining, hand-drawn elements, and other creative interventions that transform the classic cyanotype process. Each person will leave with a collection of unique prints while gaining a deeper understanding of alternative photographic processes.
