Cyanotyping – a printing process in which objects are placed onto a photosensitive sheet of paper and exposed to UV light – has engaged many influential artists, including Anna Atkins and Meghann Riepenhoff. Join us to explore patterns and composition as you create cyanotype prints using items you bring from home, or draw from a selection of nature-related items we will provide. Watch your designs come to life in striking shades of blue and white, and leave with your very own print.

About Studio Workshops
Studio Workshops are beginner-friendly art-making workshops inspired by artworks on view at the High. These workshops provide opportunities to experiment, play, and enjoy new art-making materials and processes. No prior experience is required. Studio Workshops are designed for adults, but all ages are welcome. This workshop is offered three times.
About Your Instructor
Purna Ahuja is a graphic artist turned art educator. She began her career in publishing, working as a graphic artist in New York and Atlanta with a specialization in children’s books. Her passion for educational materials inspired her to change careers, and she worked as an art educator for Gwinnett County Public Schools for twenty-one years using multidisciplinary and STEAM-based methods to teach students of diverse needs and abilities. She served as a juror for the Governor’s Honors Program and a supervising mentor for art education students at Georgia State University.
