Blacksmith’s Window, 2000
gelatin silver print, High Museum of Art, 2006.70.

This permanent collection installation showcases a dynamic series of photographs drawn from the High’s permanent collection. The exhibition will consist of 43 prints that explore the creation and evolution of distinct visual photographic styles by photographic visionaries such as Eugène Atget, Walker Evans, and Garry Winogrand.

The exhibition will bring together images spanning 120 years in order to re-examine the meaning and intent of earlier photographers’ work; while underscoring the continued relevance of photographic history in contemporary practice.
