The High’s permanent collection of photographs by Ralph Gibson has, with the generous support of the Kuniansky family, grown over the past ten years into one of the most important repositories of the artist’s work anywhere in the country. Gibson, a California native who has lived in New York since 1967, is celebrated for his dedication to developing and publishing elegant bodies of work around conceptual points of departure. This exhibition, including 12 suites of photographs, honoring the photographer’s diverse career will be drawn from the Museum’s important holdings and will present a focused survey of Gibson’s photographic approach to the world over the course of more than 50 years.
