American artist Faith Ringgold (1930–2024) is widely known and celebrated for her paintings, multimedia art, and narrative quilts. Faith Ringgold: Seeing Children is the most comprehensive exhibition to date of the artist’s award-winning children’s books. Khari Cabral Simmons
Khari Cabral Simmons is a bassist best known for his soul/jazz fusion music. Simmons has collaborated and performed with Sun Ra, India.Arie, and Gaelle. He formed the music group Jiva to be a vehicle for his upbeat soulful music.
Peggy Martin
Peggy Martin is a self-taught African American fiber artist who lives in metro Atlanta. Her quilts, which are usually made using a long-arm machine, include African fabrics and embellishments and each tell a unique story. She currently serves as vice president of community outreach for the Brown Sugar Stitchers Quilt Guild.
