The High has been collecting ceramics since the 1920s, making it the largest category within the Decorative Arts and Design collection. The Frances and Emory Cocke Collection of English Ceramics is a comprehensive survey of English ceramics ranging from seventeenth-century pottery wares to early nineteenth-century fine porcelain. This collection focuses on the variety of form, color, place, and function in English ceramics to illustrate the diversity of design during this period. Other groups include the Marjorie Eichenlaub West Collection of Meissen Porcelain, Audrey and Michael Landy’s examples of 1970s–1990s clay, and Dr. and Mrs. John L. Jacobs’ collection of Japanese ceramics.
