August 6, 2024

ATLANTA, Aug. 6, 2024 — The High Museum of Art is pleased to announce that Bergan Burnett has joined the museum as chief financial officer. As CFO, Burnett is responsible for the development of financial strategy, annual and long-term financial planning, and ongoing financial reporting and operations.

“We are delighted to bring Bergan on board as a member of our senior leadership team,” said the High’s Director Rand Suffolk. “Bergan comes to the museum with more than 15 years of sophisticated accounting experience and a proven track record of leadership in the non-profit sector. As a member of the High for many years, she also brings a passion for our mission and familiarity with our work that make her well-positioned to help us grow in a fiscally responsible and sustainable way.”

“I am honored to serve as the chief financial officer of the High Museum of Art,” said Burnett. “The High’s rich programming and unique exhibitions, which are designed to educate, inspire and stretch the imagination, have always resonated with me. I look forward to playing a key role in the High’s growth as a premier institution for art and culture in Atlanta.”

Prior to joining the High, Burnett served as the vice president of finance at the Atlanta Humane Society (AHS). In that role, she was responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial operations and managing its annual operating budget. Before joining AHS, Burnett served as the controller for the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, where she handled the accounting for the nonprofit’s extensive range of programs. Burnett began her accounting career at Kearney & Company, where she earned her certified public accountant license and managed financial reporting for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

A longtime Atlanta resident, Burnett earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business. In her spare time, Burnett likes to explore Atlanta’s vibrant food scene and travel with her husband, William, and their two sons.
