ATLANTA, April 26, 2022 — The High Museum of Art will host its 2022 Collectors Evening on Thursday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m. At the event, the Museum’s Taylor Lobby will be transformed into a five-star dining experience, and attendees can vote for their favorite artworks from among the seven proposed acquisitions to join the High’s collection of more than 18,000 objects. Proceeds from the evening will support the purchase of the works that receive the most votes. The event is open to the public. Tickets and additional information are available at www.high.org.
“As one of our most popular fundraisers, Collectors Evening never disappoints. The friendly competition among curators is always spirited and a truly great time,” said Rand Suffolk, Nancy and Holcombe T. Green, Jr., director of the High. “We’re thrilled to host the event again this year and so grateful to our donors for their generosity, which makes it all possible.”
The evening begins with the opportunity for guests to view the proposed works and enjoy one-on-one conversations with the curators while enjoying drinks. A seated dinner, curatorial presentations and voting for the crowd’s favorite artworks will follow. Since the inception of Collectors Evening in 2010, attendees have selected a total of 30 acquisitions for the Museum’s collection, including works by Donald Locke, Nandipha Mntambo, Vik Muniz and Shirin Neshat.
