Gloucester led by an old man Act IV, Scene I: “I have no way: and therefore want no eyes” Betrayed by his son Edmund, Gloucester has been blinded by Regan and her husband. Disconsolately he wanders on the heath and is taken in by poor people. A minimum of recognizable details, such as the moon in a dark sky and the gable of a house or hut, suffice to evoke the setting of this scene.
