Having taught himself how to use oil glazes, Lorenzo Scott painted his own versions of iconic subjects he had admired in paintings at major museums. As a result, much of his work possesses attributes of Renaissance and Baroque religious art, as can be seen in his painting of the baptism of Jesus. Scott builds up the elaborate gold frames around his painting with automotive bonding material and models them to replicate the ornate gilded frames found on Old Master paintings.
