Every Second Sunday

UPS Second Sunday

On the second Sunday of each month, we offer free admission for all visitors from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and special programming from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. Bring the entire family and enjoy art-making activities, performances, and the High’s collection and special exhibitions. Each month has new activities and adventures planned especially for you.

We are committed to offering free admission on the Second Sunday of every month. Online advanced reservations are recommended.

Every First Saturday

Family Saturday

Enjoy creative fun for all ages the first Saturday of every month! Family Saturday incorporate arts programming for everyone. Friends and families of any age can experiment, play, and make art in studio workshops and learn about art on view through gallery tours. Whether you’re joining Toddler Saturday, Studio Sessions, or Teen Art Afternoon, there is something for everyone, every month, at the High.

Thursdays and the First Saturday

Toddler Thursdays and Saturdays

Designed for children ages fifteen months through three years and their caregivers, Toddler Thursdays and Saturdays engage children’s creativity and explore monthly topics with related artwork and self-guided tours, as well as new art-making activities to drop in for each week.

HIGH Frequency Friday

HIGH Frequency Fridays have something for everyone!

On the first Friday of every month from 6 to 10 p.m., you can count on the High to bring you a moment of respite and fun in our galleries. HIGH Frequency Fridays are here every month to bring you a soundtrack to enhance your art experience.

Join us for a day of free admission and drop-in programming for adults of all ages! Whether you like to explore on your own, join a conversation, or create art, there is something for you. Come as you are and stay as long as you like.

Every Third Friday

Friday Jazz

Don’t miss an evening of live jazz at the High every third Friday. Enjoy a drink and light bites, head to the galleries to explore the Museum’s works on view, and join a docent-led tour for a detailed look at the collection. The event features two musical areas where musicians will play throughout the evening, layering notes and improvising melodies. Seating for Friday Jazz opens at 6 p.m. and is limited and available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Every Second Wednesday

Conversation Pieces

Look closely and see more: one artwork, thirty minutes, new discoveries. No art experience is necessary, and all curious learners are welcome! Conversation Pieces meets in person and virtually on the first Tuesday of each month

Art Context Courses

Expand your appreciation and knowledge of art and art history through these multiweek classes, led by art historians and other Atlanta creatives. Through a combination of classroom lecture, in-gallery discussion, and supplemental readings, dive deep into artists, themes, and movements on view in the High’s collection and special exhibitions, and gain a greater appreciation for the historical and cultural contexts that shaped them.

Drawing from Experience

Drawing from Experience is an ongoing series of drawing sessions that take inspiration from the High’s campus and collection. Each session focuses on a different way of seeing and capturing the world around us while allowing participants to explore their own personal expression and develop their drawing skills.

In these sessions, all materials are provided, but participants may bring their own. Each session description includes a supply list.  Space is limited, and preregistration is required. Your ticket includes access to the galleries.

Studio Sessions

Interested in exploring different art-making materials and techniques? These one-off art-making workshops are an opportunity to experiment, play, and enjoy dabbling with new mediums, connected to artworks on view at the High. Studio Sessions occur throughout the year. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is required. Studio Sessions are designed for adults, but all ages are welcome.

Studio Classes

Immerse yourself in art through making. Multiple-session Studio Classes explore mediums and materials in depth and enable you to build technical skills through scaffolded, sequential instruction. Professional teaching artists will guide your engagement as you expand your creativity and gain a greater appreciation for the artistic process. Studio Classes are intermediate level; they are designed for adults with some experience. All materials are provided.

Musing Together

Musing Together is a monthly art conversation program designed for individuals with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia and their care partners. Each month, High Museum of Art staff facilitate lively conversations focusing on three to four artworks on view in the High’s collection or special exhibitions.
