Study Hall: A Creative Connection Space for Working Artists

Study Hall is a monthly work session that invites Atlanta artists to create, experiment, and connect inside the museum. The program offers a consistent, low barrier space for self-directed creative practice and peer exchange. Artists work at their own pace while enjoying a supportive environment that highlights the museum as an active cultural space.

Meet Your Museum: Adult Tour

Designed for new members, or any members looking to get a fresh perspective, this leisurely tour offers an hour of looking and learning led by a High Museum of Art docent. Stools and assistive listening devices will be provided.

Studio Workshop: Plein Air Drawing

Experiment with mark-making to define branching silhouettes, render the intricate textures of bark, and suggest the shapes of leaves. Leave with a series of studies in graphite and watercolor pencil, and learn a variety of new techniques for translating the natural world onto paper.

Behind the Scenes with Walter Wick, Artist and Author of I SPY! and Can You See What I See?

Go behind the scenes with artist Walter Wick, in conversation with organizing curator Andrew Westover. Together, the speakers will explore Wick’s creative process, which is on display in the exhibition I SPY! Walter Wick’s Hidden Wonders. From constructing intricate miniature scenes to experimenting with optical illusions, from transforming everyday objects to puzzles packed with whimsical surprises, learn how Wick’s world-famous books like I SPY! and Can You See What I See? were created.
